That's correct. I plane to final wi...Matthew,<BR/><BR/>Yes. That's correct. I plane to final with the block plane. The scraper is a great tool, but it's overkill. And using a scraper isn't as simple as making a few passes with the plane. The blade is sharpened differently than a block plane and the blade angle needs to be set correctly to avoid chatter marks. You may not notice the chatter marks until the varnish is applied.
