Little Red Flies

Posted by David Bolin

Here's the stuff I fish most of the time on the Little Red. Starting at the top from left to right: #14 CDC Pheasant Tail, #16 Gray Sow/Scud, #16 Tan Sow/Scud, #12 Tan Sow/Scud, #20 olive midge, #20 red midge, #16 orange larva lace midge, #16 olive larva lace midge. I don't fish high water so all but the #12 tan Sow/Scud are almost exclusively low clear water flies. I fish the #12 in murky stained water. I lead off with the PT on the lower end of the Little Red. The olive and red midges on the upper end or anywhere I see sippers. The lead off fly on the Norfork is the olive larva lace midge. The lead on the White is the orange larva lace midge. Materials are posted in the captions of the fishing photo album. This is a minimalist collection. My fishing is fairly simple and very laid back.
