Cutting the sections to final length

Posted by David Bolin

The scariest task in all of rod making...cutting em up. They say "measure twice cut once". I measure 3 or 4 times. Each of the sections in this picture is cut to a slightly different length to accommodate the depth of the female ferrules and the tip top. When the ferrules are mounted, all of the unassembled sections are supposed to be the same length and the assembled rod is supposed to be the correct length...we'll see.
