Smith River Trip

Posted by David Bolin

Spent last week on the Smith river in Montana. We arrived at the put in point Monday afternoon. It started raining that evening and rained for about 24 hours (with a 40% chance of rain...go figure). Launched Tuesday morning and drifted in the rain all day. That pretty much wrapped up the fishing for the week. The river was blown out but just right for floating. We had good weather the rest of the week. Took out 59 miles later Saturday afternoon. The fishing was a total flop, but the company, food and scenery was fantastic. It was a great week without the fishing. The group included Kyle McKee, Matt West, Terre Meinershagen and his kids Clara and Riley, LeMoyne and J. Ann Hyde, and Matt Hyde and his daughter Maddison. I've posted about 200 pictures in the web album. The link is on the lower left corner of the blog page.
