Lawn casting

I've taped the guides on and cast all the rods in the front yard this evening. They're really sweet rods. Especially the 7ft 4wts I'm making for the Montana boys. There's something about a silky smooth light weight bamboo rod that words just can't describe. They feel too light in hand for a 4wt but the loops are tight and they're very accurate at 30ft. What more could you ask for. The ST2 delivers effortless tight loops up close and the ST4 seems to be a little more comfortable with another ten feet of line out. That's consistent with the taper designs.

That's the Montana rods laying on the back of my truck and there's a snapshot of the tapers below. Now it's back to the shop to apply the silk wraps. But which colors? More decisions...
