Fly Fishing Truck

We were on our way home from dinner this evening and we met this pick-up truck with the phrase "Fly Fishing Truck" in big letters on a bug shield. I suppose you'd have to be from the sticks (like me) to understand something like that. It's a man thing. But my wife commented that she wouldn't ride with me if I put that on my truck (she's not from the sticks). So...I asked if she'd ride in my truck if I put "Searcy Sowbug" in big letters on my windshield. She didn't even give it a chance. Absolutely not! I can't help but agree with her. That's about as cheesy as it gets.

When I started this blog, I didn't take days to think up a really cool name for it. I was just playing around with Blogger one day and decided to give it a whirl. Just a blog for friends and family. So why not something cheesy. Searcy Sowbug reminds me a lot of those call names we used on CB radios when I was a teenager. My CB handle was Catnip in honor of one of my favorite cartoon characters. But Searcy Sowbug seemed to fit the content better.

I kinda like the name now. There really isn't room in the universe for another arrangement of the words "Classic", "Fine", "Creek", "River", "Water", "Maker" and "Bamboo Rods".

So there you go. I picked a blog name that I can't put on a bug shield. What was I thinking!
