North Sylamore at Pogue Spring - November 25th, 2006

Posted by David Bolin

Dad and I explored the pogue springs area of the North Sylamore creek today. That's gravel dad is sitting on, not sand. It was as white as snow. We drove in on an old road that was washed out when I was a teenager. It's still washed out today...25 years later. You can't drive in without a 4 wheel drive. We saw lots of minnows and one 12 inch sucker. No game fish. They've probably settled in for the winter in the deep pools. The water was pretty cold. Hope to spend more time in the area next spring. There's a picture of Mom and Dads current cabin project. It's about 3 miles from the cabin to the bottom of the holler.
